What is Intimacy Directing?
Like fight choreography, intimacy choreography allows theatre makers to create work that is safe and repeatable. Using a set of tools, practices, and philosophies learned in training, I work to create staged kissing, simulated sex acts, intimate touch, and instances of nudity/revealing dress while helping actors to establish and communicate boundaries. With intimacy direction, directors get what they want and actors know what's coming.
